Curtis Wilson, of Bend, died Saturday of natural causes. He was 49.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Westside Church in Bend.

Mr. Wilson was born Feb. 25, 1957, in Lynwood, Calif., to Jerry and Mildred Wilson. He married Wendy Gates on March 9, 1990, on Catalina Island in California.

Mr. Wilson served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1976 to 1980. He was the owner and operator of J and C Communications in Southern California until his retirement in 2001. He enjoyed fishing, making fishing rods and barbecuing.

Survivors include his wife; his father, of Boulder City, Nev.; a brother, Rod, of Wisconsin; and a sister, Melaine Springer, of Boulder City.
