Katie Jenkins, of Bend, died Monday. She was 74.
Private services will be held.
Mrs. Jenkins was born March 30, 1932, in Everton, Mo., to William and Pearly Mae Haley. She married Ben Jenkins on Dec. 22, 1979, in Redding, Calif.
Mrs. Jenkins worked as a motel manager. She was a member of the Republican Women’s Club and PTAs in California schools. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting dolls, travel, camping, ocean and lake fishing, hunting and trapshooting.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Stephen Slinkard, of Camarillo, Calif., Paul Slinkard, of Mendocino, Calif., and Randy Slinkard, of Redding; two daughters, Kathy Hawk, of Redding, and Shelley Lindsey, of Bend; five stepdaughters, Kathleen, of Los Angeles, Peggy Brock, of Camarillo, Elizabeth Gavin, of Bakersfield, Calif., Fern Treadway, of Clovis, N.M., and Anita Harrington, of Oregon; two sisters, Donnie Lawson, of Bossier City, La., and Georgia Vaughn, of Topeka, Kan.; 31 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.
Deschutes Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
