If you missed North Carolina’s The Avett Brothers when they played the Domino Room in August, shame on you! Now you can redeem yourself when the band plays a free show Wednesday at McMenamins Old St. Francis School.

On record, The Avett Brothers (made up of a bassist and, yeah, a couple of brothers named Avett) blend bluegrass and old-time acoustic music with punk-rock sensibility and a knack for sweet harmonies. In a live setting, however, they make a heck of a clatter and will stomp a mudhole in you the size of Albemarle Sound.

In other words, miss ’em at your own risk. The show starts at 7 p.m. and it’s free. McMenamins is located at 700 N.W. Bond St., in Bend.
