Marcos Rodriguez, formerly the chef at La Rosa on Bend’s west side, has taken over the former Mangia! Pasta! location in the Forum Shopping Center with partner Peter Lowes. Their new restaurant, Hola, will serve both Mexican and Peruvian food, Lowes said, along with specialty margaritas.

”The restaurant has been completely remodeled and repainted,” said Lowes. ”We expect it to open by the middle of March.” Rodriguez will be assisted by his father and brother. He’ll serve lunch and dinner daily, plus weekend breakfasts. 2670 N.E. Highway 20; 389-4652 (389-HOLA).

Correction: The Redmond branch of SOBA Asian Bistro, which opened around the first of the year, has been approved to serve alcohol by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission. An item in last week’s dining column incorrectly indicated the restaurant was not yet open. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday. 2498 S. Hwy. 97, Redmond; 923-5115, www.eatsoba .com.
