The Powell Butte Community Center will hold its grand opening today from 4 to 7 p.m.

Planned at the event are opening ceremonies, speakers, entertainment and refreshments.

The center, which has been in the works since 1999, was built entirely through cash and corporate donations, fundraising activities and grants. It is now available for rent for meetings, weddings, dances and more, with a main hall of 2,100 square feet, plus two meeting rooms and a kitchen area.

The Powell Butte Community Center is located at 8404 S.W. Reif Road in Powell Butte.
