PRINEVILLE – After dropping a string of heartbreakers, Crook County finally earned another long-awaited league win.

The game was called after five innings by the 10-run rule.

Crook County coach Tom Decker said that the Cowgirls (2-6 IMC, 9-8 overall) had spent the majority of Monday’s practice working on hitting. It showed – the Cowgirls had 16 hits in the win.

The most notable slugger was outfielder Mantana Reece, who was two for three with four RBIs, one run scored and hit the game’s only double. Santana Reece was also two for three with two RBIs and Shaylynn Curtis added two singles and scored four runs.

The hard hits came early and often for Crook County, as the home team scored five runs in the first inning. They followed that with three more runs in the second, four more in the third and six in the fourth inning.
