The father of one of the passengers on United 93, the plane that crashed in Pennsylvania on Sept. 11, 2001, will speak Sunday at Discovery Christian Church in Bend.

David Beamer’s son Todd was one of the ringleaders of the passengers’ effort to overtake the hijackers and regain control of the plane, which most believe was headed for a target in Washington, D.C.

David Beamer will speak on hope and peace in the midst of terror and fear during the 10:45 a.m. worship service at Discovery Christian Church, at 334 N.W. Newport Ave., in Bend.
