Tanner Robertson, who just concluded his senior year at Redmond High School, has been accepted to the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., where he plans to play soccer for the Army Black Knights.

Robertson will attend the United States Military Academy Preparatory School in Fort Monmouth, N.J., for one year beginning this fall and play soccer for the school. He will then head to West Point with four years of eligibility remaining.

Army, coached by Kurt Swanbeck, is an NCAA Division I program that competes in the Patriot League in men’s soccer. The 2007 season marks the 87th year of Army soccer.

Robertson has received his official offer of admissions to the USMAPS and has received a nomination to West Point from U.S. Rep. Greg Walden, R-Hood River, that he will use upon admission in 2008.

Robertson was a first-team all-Central Valley Conference midfielder during his senior season after scoring a team-high nine goals for the Panthers. Robertson also earned first-team all-Intermountain Conference honors during his junior year when he scored 18 goals.
