John H. Poppe Sr., of Prineville, died Saturday of natural causes. He was 89.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Jefferson Memorial Park in Madras.
Mr. Poppe was born Aug. 10, 1918, in Stratton, Colo., the son of Henry and Anna (Lipsack) Poppe. He attended school in Colorado and Kansas. He married Rita Jordan on Dec. 27, 1986, in Klamath Falls.
Mr. Poppe worked as a dairy farmer, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife; a son, John Jr., of Prineville; three stepsons, Lee Jordan, of Lake Oswego, Clint Jordan, of Snohomish, Wash., and Neil Jordan, of Madras; two daughters, Darlene Bozarth, of Redmond, and Anna Rowell, of Caldwell, Idaho; three stepdaughters, Carole Fitzgerald, of Van Horn, Texas, Mika McDonald, of Prineville, and Linda Shaw, of Sparks, Nev.; a grandchild; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Redmond-Sisters.
Bel-Air Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
