Bend man wins Crater Lake Rim Runs marathon

Jeff Caba of Bend raced to victory in the 32nd annual Crater Lake Rim Runs marathon, held Aug. 11.
Caba, 37, finished with a time of 2 hours, 59 minutes, 40 seconds. Todd Ragsdale of Talent finished second in 3:03:03, and Greg Mueller of Central Point was third in 3:26:44.

The marathon course was staged on roads along the rim of Crater Lake. Elevations on the course ranged from 5,980 feet to 7,850 feet above sea level.
The event also included a 13-mile run and a 6.7-mile run and walk.
The field for the Crater Lake Rim Runs is limited to a combined total of 500 participants, on a first-come-first-served basis.
