Richard Davis Mayfield, of Redmond, died Wednesday of natural causes. He was 81.
Services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Mayfield was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Fresno, Calif., the son of Merton and Corrinne Mayfield.
Mr. Mayfield served as a hospital mate for the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He worked as an actor in Hollywood and as a professional clown for Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus. He was an artist, a ventriloquist and he enjoyed old-time movie trivia.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Hanners; and five grandchildren.
Redmond Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
