Hazel “Haze” Marie Kiser, of Bend, died Sept. 11 of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She was 79.

A celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Old Stone Church in Bend. A reception will follow. A celebration of life and reception also will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 5 at Crabiel Funeral Home in Milltown, N.J.

Mrs. Kiser was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Milltown, the daughter of Edwin and Stella (Booraem) Kuhlthau. She graduated from the U.S. Army Cadet Nurse Corps training program in 1945. She married Donald Kiser on March 25, 1949.

Mrs. Kiser was a registered nurse, retiring in 1962. She enjoyed entertaining, cooking, dancing, singing and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Jack, of Davis, Calif.; two daughters, Beverly Maul, of Davis, and Phyllis Hackett, of Sitka, Alaska; and four grandchildren.
