William M. Craig, of La Pine, died Friday. He was 89.
No services are planned at this time.
Mr. Craig was born March 13, 1918, in Toppenish, Wash., the son of William and Ida Mae Craig. He graduated from Redmond High School in 1937. He married Anna Lee Wood on Nov. 11, 1937, in La Pine.
Mr. Craig served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater until he was honorably discharged in 1945. He worked in the irrigation department for the Yakima Indian Nation for 14 years, and he worked for the Oregon Department of Transportation, retiring as La Pine foreman in 1981. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family.
Survivors include two sons, Bill, of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and Tom, of Toppenish; a daughter, LeeAnn Harris, of La Pine; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife and three sisters.
