The White Buffaloes led 48-31 at halftime.
The Eagle Indians did not go down easy, though, according to Madras coach Allen Hair. The Dalles-Wahtonka outrebounded Madras 61-31, and matched the visiting team with 20 points in the third period and surged ahead to score 23 points in the fourth. The Eagle Indians also had two players notch double-doubles, as Damian Telles scored 30 points with 10 rebounds, while Quinn Macnab had 26 points and 18 boards.
Madras salvaged its fourth-quarter scoring slump by shooting 70 percent from the foul line.
“Down the stretch, that was huge for us,” Hair said.
The White Buffaloes struggled offensively late in the game, making only three baskets and scoring just 14 points in the final period.
In the end, Robert Main finished with 14 points, Darrell Ceciliani added 12 and Austin Say contributed 11.
