Home improvement giant Lowe’s Companies Inc., which posted sales of $46.9 billion in 2006, will open its new Redmond store on Jan. 25 at 6 a.m., according to press release Wednesday from the Mooresville, N.C.-based company. The 102,000-square-foot retail store and adjacent 27,200-square-foot garden center — located south of downtown Redmond off Veterans Way and U.S. Highway 97 — will create up to 120 new jobs, most of which will be full-time, said Karen Cobb, Lowe’s spokeswoman. The store, about 12 miles north of the Bend Lowe’s, will be the second home improvement giant to open in Redmond within in six weeks. The Home Depot opened in north Redmond on Dec. 12.
