Kia Motors America Inc. confirmed Wednesday that an auto dealer plans to open a Kia franchise in Bend, possibly by early next year, according to company spokesman Alex Fedorak. Fedorak wouldn’t disclose the dealer’s name but said it’s an “experienced dealer who (owns) a Kia franchise elsewhere.” Fedorak was unable to say where the dealership would be located. Popular models made by the South Korean automaker include the Sorrento, a compact SUV, and the Sedona, a minivan. There are six Kia dealerships in Oregon, but all are in the Willamette Valley, according to the company’s Web site.
