Salem Municipal Airport is losing a couple of flights. Delta Air Lines is trimming its Salt Lake City flights Tuesdays and Wednesdays from two to one. City airport administrator Alan Alexander said last week the cuts are effective immediately.

Delta Air Lines officials say Tuesdays and Wednesdays have been the weakest days for the flights. Airline industry officials say they have to focus on higher-priced and more profitable routes in the face of high fuel prices.

Also last week, Mexicana Airlines announced it would end its two nonstop flights to Guadalajara and Mexico City from Portland International Airport on Sept. 2.
