ALBANY — Albany police say they are investigating a man who may have sexually abused children during the past 20 years.
The case launched this week after police received several phone calls about Shawn Jarvis. Callers say he was staring at young girls at a local park, asking their names and where they lived. Jarvis was interviewed and later released.
But police say the investigation revealed that Jarvis had taken a sexually explicit photograph and sexually touched a 5-year-old girl earlier this week.
And that Jarvis had gone to Periwinkle Park with the intention of sexually abusing a young girl.
They say evidence shows he may have sexually abused other children.
Police are asking those who have any more information to contact the Albany Police Department.
