“Green Building: The Legendary Story of Central Oregon’s Success,” a 30-minute television special, will air at 9 a.m. Sunday on KOHD-TV, BendBroadband Channel 9.

Appearing in the special are more than a dozen regional green building designers, architects, contractors and educators as well as Scott Chambers, the president of Chambers Communications in Eugene, speaking about his commitment to green practices in Deschutes County when KOHD-TV was built in 2007.

The new studio has solar-paneled roofing to cut down on energy consumption, parking lot filters to reduce emissions, passive solar designed concrete floors, green-certified post-consumer recycled pads and carpet, recycled wood flooring, low-energy fluorescent lighting and low-water landscaping with indigenous plants.
