CLINICS/INSTRUCTION

Horse health classes: Offered in Bend, Redmond and Prineville through Central Oregon Community College’s Community Learning program. Learn from a local veterinarian about horse nutrition, vital signs, recognizing emergency situations, bandaging and first aid, vaccinations, and health problems such as colic and founder. Use your new knowledge to create a basic health care routine to keep your horse well. Six weekday evening sessions at locations in Bend, Redmond and Prineville. Instructors are Dr. Fay Burton, Dr. Cassee Terry and Dr. Rhet Schultz. To register, go online to www.cocc.edu or call 383-7700. Cost is $49.

PARELLI HORSE-MAN-SHIP CLINICS: Presented by Marc Rea, a licensed Three Star instructor, the two-day clinic is for Advancing Level 2 and will be held at Tumalo Reservoir Trails Ranch, 18465 Pinehurst Road in Bend. Space is limited; call to reserve a spot. Clinic runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Cost is $400 for the two-day clinics; a $100 deposit holds rider spots. Cost for auditors is $25 per day.
