The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a free document shredding event Sept. 20.

The event is intended for personal document shredding, not for businesses. Residents are encouraged to destroy financial documents or other paper that includes personal information. No sorting is required, and file folders and binders can also be shredded. The event will also include information on how to protect yourself from identity theft.

Documents will be accepted between noon and 4 p.m. in the parking lot of the Terrebonne Sheriff’s Office, 8154 11th St. For more information, call the Sheriff’s Office at 541-388-6659.
