Jane Pratt Stevens, of Bend passed peacefully away on September 9, 2008.

Jane was born in the Bronx, New York, the daughter of Howard Oliver Pratt and Effie Dongan Pratt. She moved to Pasadena, CA when she was a child, where in 1953 she met and married the love of her life, Lindsay Stevens.

Jane was a volunteer for the Girl Scouts, leading for all three of her daughters; she worked many a weekend in fireworks stands raising funds for Pee Wee Football and Little League Baseball; for ten years, she organized a carnival to benefit the Carl Harvey School for the Disabled in Santa Ana, CA; and she led a food and clothing drive to assist the victims of a flood and mud slide in Silverado Canyon in southern California.

Jane had a passion for baseball and the Seattle Mariners, but she especially loved watching her grandsons play ball for the past ten years. She enjoyed bowling with the Early Risers League, and spent hours scrapbooking photos of her children and grandchildren.

Jane’s life centered around her family. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lindsay, her sister, Lorraine Robinson; her four children, Jill Stevens-Combs (Mike) of Sparks, NV; Debbie Martorano and Linda Stevens, of Bend; and David Stevens (Townley), of Poulsbo WA; and her five grandchildren, Heather Combs (18), Anthony Martorano (15), Corey Martorano (13), Asher Stevens (2) and Brehlie Stevens (1); and numerous neices and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 230 N.E. 9th, Bend on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2008 at 3:00 pm. A reception will follow at her home at 21585 Stub Pl., Bend. Baseball attire preferred.
