PACIFIC CITY — A dune buggy collision north of Pacific City killed two Washington County residents and critically injured three other people, Tillamook County Sheriff Todd Anderson said.

The Friday night accident was in an area known as “the flats.”

One driver, David Leach, 56, of Hillsboro, and a passenger, Chiara Acker, 19, of Aloha, died on impact.

Passengers Phillip Snyder, 25, of Aloha, and an unidentified female were injured.

The other driver, David Reiman, 47, of Vancouver, Wash., was critically injured. The injured were flown to Portland hospitals.
