For a snack that’s full of fiber and protein, try a few chickpeas

Chickpeas, also called garbanzo beans, are often eaten mashed into hummus or falafal.

These beans, often a golden yellow but available in a variety of colors, pack lots of healthy protein and fiber. They also have high amounts of the minerals manganese and molybdenum, which help the body metabolize other nutrients. Because chickpeas are high in fiber and have a high amount of polyunsaturated fat, they have been shown to improve cholesterol levels.

How to make: Blend with olive oil and garlic to make hummus or cook and use in pasta and salads.
