Bend’s community radio station, KPOV, will host “a zany brand of election follies” called the Free Thinkers Ball at Boondocks (70 N.E. Greenwood Ave, Bend) on Oct. 23.

The event, to be held from 7 p.m. to midnight, is for free-thinking folks who want a break from election season. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite (or least favorite) political figure and mingle with local celebrities and KPOV DJs.

Attendees can also dance to the sound of local rock band El Dante, “vote” for raffle prizes and enjoy refreshments.

Tickets cost $25 per person and $40 for two people. KPOV DJs and members can buy tickets for $20 per person and $30 for twopeople. Tickets are available at www.kpov.org or at KPOV’s studio at 501 N.W. Bond St., from 1 to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
