A Bend man was injured Tuesday afternoon when his SUV collided with a commercial truck and trailer loaded with cardboard on U.S. Highway 20 about 20 miles east of Bend.

According to Oregon State Police, the westbound Ford Explorer driven by Marc Andrew Nordstrom, 38, was about 2 feet over the centerline when he crested a hill and collided with the eastbound truck driven by Kerry D. Crawford, 58, from Cedar City, Utah. Police said Crawford steered to avoid the SUV, but it crashed into the left side of his truck and trailer.

Nordstrom was transported by AirLink helicopter to St. Charles Bend, where he was listed in critical condition Wednesday night. Police are continuing their investigation.
