Doghouse lamp fire burns Redmond home

A heat lamp in a doghouse started a house fire in Redmond on Saturday when it sparked a fire under a covered porch, according to a news release from the Redmond Fire Department.
The fire spread to the attic and burned through the roof causing about $150,000 in damage to the home and its contents before crews put it out, the release said.

No one was at home at the time of the fire, which started at 4:58 p.m., but fire crews rescued a cat from the fire. Two other pets also survived.
