EUGENE — Maria Ramirez came within one rebound and two assists of a triple-double as La Pine rolled past Marist 61-48 on Tuesday. The win keeps the Hawks (7-1 Sky-Em, 18-2) tied with Cottage Grove for first place in the Sky-Em League.
“We hit some shots early,” said La Pine coach Kim Beer, whose Hawks led 34-21 at halftime. “We shot 62 percent from the field in the first half. That really helped.”
Ramirez came up big in La Pine’s fourth consecutive win, scoring a game-high 26 points while also recording nine rebounds and eight assists.
“We changed our offense a little bit since we thought they’d be looking at (Kassi) Conditt,” Beer said. “That put Maria in position to score.”
Amanda Blankenship added 15 points and Conditt contributed eight points and nine rebounds in the league win for the Hawks. La Pine hosts Central Oregon rival Sisters on Friday.
