PORTLAND — The FBI announced the arrest of a woman believed to be the “Wrangler” bandit.

Spokeswoman Beth Anne Steele says 46-year-old Gwendolyn Sherbondy, of Coquille, has been charged with bank robbery for her alleged role in the holdup of a Wells Fargo branch in Roseburg last month.

The FBI dubbed the woman the “Wrangler” bandit because she was seen leaving the scene in a Jeep with that word painted on the side.

Sherbondy is at the Lane County jail and will make her first appearance before a federal judge today.
