Warner Mountain Fire Lookout

Renters of this Willamette National Forest fire lookout will be rewarded for their 8-mile trek with seclusion, beauty and a 360-degree view of the surrounding mountain peaks. A weekend in this winter wonderland pays dividends.

Getting there:

From Bend, drive south on U.S. Highway 97 to Crescent. Take a right onto State Highway 58/Willamette Highway. Turn left toward Hills Creek Reservoir on Kitson Springs Road. Turn right onto Forest Road 21. Turn left on gravel Forest Road 2129. Proceed on 2129 to Spur 439 (You may encounter snow and have to stop prior to reaching 439). Turn right at this junction, turning left on the 342 spur.

Difficulty:

Strenuous. Prepare for a 6- to 10-mile trek.

Rental information:

This lookout is available to rent between November and May. Weekends require a two-night minimum stay. No animals are allowed.

$65 per night, $455 per week
