The lease for Gottschalks’ store at 61284 S. U.S. Highway 97 is for sale, according to the Web site of DJM Realty, a Chicago real estate firm.

The Fresno, Calif.-based Gottschalks chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January and is in reorganization. The company has said it’s exploring several strategic options, including a sale of all or parts of the company or an auction if no buyer is found by Monday. Several buyers are reportedly interested in Gottschalks, according to news reports. However, the company also has entered into a liquidation agreement that would take effect should no buyer step forward.

Gottschalks opened its 55,330-square-foot Bend store in October. According to DJM, the lease is available for $8.45 per square foot. The lease expires Oct. 31, 2009.
