Bend is set to lose its last camera store as a liquidation sale was expected to begin today at Ritz Camera Center in the Bend River Promenade.

The store is one of 300 nationwide being liquidated by Beltsville, Md.-based Ritz Camera Centers Inc. as part of a court-ordered bankruptcy reorganization, according to an April 2 press release from the company.

Approximately 400 Ritz stores will remain open after the bankruptcy, according to the company. A Bend store representative was unable to comment on the closure. No one at Ritz’s corporate office was available late Friday for comment.
