CNet lists its favorite coupon-clipping sites

As more consumers reportedly clip coupons these days, more and more online coupon Web sites are cropping up to ride the wave.

Consumer products site CNet.com recently revealed its “best of” in the e-coupon world.

CNet listed 18 sites that it judged as valuable and easy to use. Some included Retail MeNot.com, CouponMom.com, DealDivine.com, SavingPiggy .com and ShopLocal.com.

I’ve found that many coupon sites are frustrating because the retailers make you sign up for a mailing list or something before giving you the free sandwich or ice cream cone or whatever. Or the special deals only apply on shipping or when you spend more than $100.

Additionally, many represent retailers that don’t operate stores in Central Oregon. It is useful, however, to regularly check up on the sites, in addition to your regular coupon-clipping habit.

One of my favorite money-saving Web sites is WiseBread .com, where they have a “Best Deals Aggregator” link at the top of the page. Click, and it takes you to a comprehensive list of coupons from all sorts of businesses. I’ve printed off more than one coupon for a free Quiznos sub or Arby’s sandwich.
