• Adenhart remembered in funeral service: Thousands gathered at the funeral of Los Angles Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart in Williamsport, Md., returning to his former high school and remembering his love for baseball. Many of Adenhart’s friends and fans arrived in baseball gear Friday, at the request of the family. Adenhart starred at Williamsport High School before becoming a major leaguer. The 22-year-old pitcher was killed in a car accident in California on April 9. He was buried Thursday in a private ceremony.
• Royals’ Gordon out at least 10-12 weeks: Third baseman Alex Gordon could be out of Kansas City’s lineup for half the season after having surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right hip. The surgery was performed Friday in Colorado, and Royals manager Trey Hillman said the recovery time is 10 to 12 weeks.

• Angels DL Guerrero with pec tear: Vladimir Guerrero has a torn muscle in his chest and will miss at least a month. The Angels sent the slugger to Los Angeles on Friday to be examined by noted team orthopedist Dr. Lewis Yocum, who found Guerrero’s pectoral tear. An MRI test the day before showed a strain. Manager Mike Scioscia said before the game at Minnesota that Guerrero would be re-evaluated again in a month, but expressed optimism for his recovery and said he can heal without surgery.
