John M. Schuler, a resident of Redmond since 1993, died June 9, 2009, in Redmond, Oregon at age 85.
A Memorial Celebration of his life will be June 15, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Christian Church of Redmond, 536 SW 10th Street, Redmond, OR.
Mr. Schuler was born in Holtville, California where he spent a good part of his life. He joined the Army during World War II, serving his country in Normandy, Rhineland, Ardennes, Northern France while serving, he was awarded the Bronze Star. He was retired from General Motors Corporation, Terex Division where he worked in many areas around the world as a Regional Service Manager. He and his wife, Lucy moved to the Redmond area in 1993. Lucy passed in 2002. After her passing, he enjoyed going to his second home in Bullhead City, AZ for the winter and returning to Central Oregon in the spring. Mr. Schuler was a faithful member of the Christian Church of Redmond and Desert Bloom Church in Fort Mojave, AZ. He was a kind, giving man who seemed to warm the hearts of those fortunate to know him.
In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted for the food bank administered by the Christian Church of Redmond.
