Police arrested two men Wednesday in an early-morning burglary at the Tumalo Country Store, according to a Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office news release.

The store’s alarm went off at about 4 a.m., and when Sheriff’s Office deputies responded, they found the glass on a side door broken. Deputies and the store’s owner watched video footage that showed two suspects and which direction they left, the news release said.

Deputies found Jonathan Burke, 19, of Redmond, and a 16-year-old male from Idaho at a nearby residence, where police also found items stolen from the store, according to the news release.

Deputies arrested Burke and the teenager on suspicion of second-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief and third-degree theft. Burke also faces a charge of probation violation, the news release said.

Burke remains in custody at the Deschutes County jail and his bail was set at $15,500, according to the news release. The juvenile was taken to the Deschutes County Juvenile Detention Center.
