Prineville cowboy wins all-around at Washington rodeo

LONGVIEW, Wash. With top-five finishes in both steer wrestling and team roping, Prinevilles Sean Santucci took all-around cowboy honors at the 2009 Thunder Mountain Pro Rodeo.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association-sanctioned event included three performances over two days and concluded Saturday at the Cowlitz County Expo Center.

Santucci placed fourth in steer wrestling and fifth in team roping with partner Ross OSullivan, of Burns, to secure $1,074.45 in total winnings.

Several other Central Oregon cowboys and cowgirls also had strong showings at the Thunder Mountain Rodeo. Shane Erickson, of Terrebonne, took first in tie-roping, and Prinevilles Shawn Waite won the bull riding competition. Another Prineville cowboy, Tyler Barnes, was the runner-up in the bareback competition. Bend bulldogger Alex Robertson placed third in steer wrestling, and Duke Williams, also of Bend, took third in tie-down roping. And in barrel racing, Jackie Rhoden, of Prineville, finished sixth.
