Ducks ending preseason camp: The Oregon Ducks are done with daily doubles. The Ducks officially close preseason camp Wednesday with a conditioning workout and their annual O Games, a set of carnival-style competitions that provide some levity to training camp. Its a return to business on Thursday, with the first formal practice in preparation for the Sept. 3 opener at Boise State. The Ducks will take Friday off and resume practice Saturday.
James officially a Seahawk: Edgerrin James is Seattles latest aging star running back, less than a year and half after Shaun Alexander was unceremoniously booted out of town. The leagues leading active rusher signed a one-year contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday night. Hes being asked to help revive a rushing offense that has been generally dormant since February 2006, when Alexander was the NFL MVP and Seattle was in its only Super Bowl. Earlier Tuesday night, Seattle waived fellow veteran running back T.J. Duckett to clear roster space.
