Patrick was born in Seattle, WA, on May 11, 1945 to Russell and Jane Whelan. Patrick passed away on August 23, 2009, at his home in Crooked

River Ranch, OR surrounded by his loving family. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him. He was an avid fisherman and loved camping and watching car races on TV.

He moved to Portland, OR at an early age and then graduated from Milwaukie High School in 1963, and attended Portland State University. He retired from Precision Castparts Schlosser in Redmond, OR after 24 years. He was a 20-year resident of Crooked River Ranch, OR.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Sally; brother, Gary; children, Tina, Christopher, Melanie and Michael; grandchildren, Shelby, Mikia, Lauren, Haylie, Matthew and Ashton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Whelan residence on September 12, 2009, at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Partners in Care Hospice, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct., Bend, OR 97701 or to the American Cancer Society, 2350 Oakmont Way, Ste., 200, Eugene, OR 97401. Funeral arangements have been entrusted to Deschutes Memorial Chapel of Bend.
