KLAMATH FALLS — It’s been almost three years since 8-year-old Sammy Boehlke went missing at Crater Lake National Park, but the effort to find him has never really ended.

Park managers have kept the case file open and continued to search for the Portland boy on a limited basis.

The search, however, will get a boost Saturday when search and rescue personnel from throughout the region arrive at the park for a three-weekend training exercise. Though the exercise will focus on search techniques, it’s being held in the area where Sammy vanished.
