Jaycee Lee Dugard is likely to testify in the criminal trial of Phillip Garrido, the man accused of kidnapping her and holding her in captivity for years, her attorney said.

McGregor Scott said Dugard is slowly recovering since being found last month but that the issue of telling a jury what happened to her has come up.

“I’m confident in saying that if this case does proceed to trial, Jaycee will, in all likelihood, be a witness for the prosecution,” he told CBS News. “She’s aware of that and understands that.”
