Two Montana residents transporting approximately 1 pound of marijuana were arrested near Hines on Tuesday, according to a news release from Oregon State Police.

Driver Peter Petri, 42, and passenger Kimberly Eickman, 48, both from Whitefish, Mont., were pulled over by an OSP trooper on a traffic stop about 11 miles west of Hines on U.S. Highway 20 at about 4:45 p.m.

Subsequent investigation led to the discovery of 1 pound of marijuana inside the van they were traveling in, the release stated.

Petri was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants and possession of a controlled substance. Eickman was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance. Both were lodged at the Harney County Correctional Facilities.
