WASHINGTON — First lady Michelle Obama has a new hairdo.

Mrs. Obama unveiled a shorter, above-the-shoulder bob on Tuesday, when she accompanied President Barack Obama to Delaware for the funeral of Vice President Joe Biden’s 92-year-old mother, Jean.

At least a couple of inches of Mrs. Obama’s dark locks are gone. The first lady had allowed her hair to grow longer last year, and she had been wearing it swept up or tucked under in recent months.

Mrs. Obama’s hair was cut within the last week, after she returned from the family’s holiday vacation in Hawaii.
