Dec. 21, 1966 – January 8, 2010

Patrick Christopher McGinnis passed away January 8, 2010, in Bend, Oregon. He was born December 21, 1966 in Long Beach, California, to Lawrence and Mary (Evans) McGinnis. His immediate family includes: sister, Julie Bernal of Austin, Texas; brother, Shawn McGinnis of Redding, California; and sister, Katie Merryman of Port Orchard, Washington. Pat graduated from Mayfair High School in 1985. On March 22, 1988, he married Jennifer Savage. They have four children: Brittany – 19, Brian – 14, Erik – 11, and Evan – 6. They moved to Oregon in 1999.

Pat was hired on Orange County Fire Authority in 1990, and eventually retired from there at the rank of Captain. He received his Bachelors degree in business from Pacific Christian University. Pat also served as Fire Chief for the Sunriver Fire Department from 1999 – 2002. He enjoyed golfing, skiing, running, as well as writing. Pat happily enjoyed discussing politics with anyone that would listen.

Memorial Services will be held at Westside Church, 2051 Shevlin Park Road, on Saturday, January 23, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. A second Memorial Service will be held later in Orange County, CA.
