Bend-based PV Powered announced this morning it has made a definitive agreement to be acquired by Advanced Energy, a solar power company in Fort Collins, Colo.

When the acquisition is finalized, PV Powered will continue to operate in Bend under its current management team as a wholly owned subsidary of Advanced Energy, the company said. Other details about the agreement were expecyed to be made public at a press conference this morning.

In a press release, PV Powered said the two companies’ combined technology and products “will create the broadest grid-tied inverter offering in the rapidly-growing solar photovoltaic market, spanning residential, commercial and utility-scale solutions.”
