The Bend La-Pine School District announced that principals have been selected for Marshall High School and Ponderosa Elementary School for the 2011-2012 school year.

Julie Linhares has been selected as Marshall High’s principal, and Steve Austin will be Ponderosa Elementary’s principal starting July 1. The current principals are retiring.

The new principals were selected after an interview process that included community forums and panel interviews.

Linhares is currently the assistant principal at Crescent Valley High School in Corvallis, and has 14 years of teaching and administration experience.

Austin is the assistant principal at Landstuhl School in Landstuhl, Germany, and has 13 years of teaching and administration experience. Austin worked for Bend-La Pine School District for seven years before taking a position abroad.
