• Moving to adopt the ‘Code of the West’ as model of conduct for the state of Oregon

Passed 44-14 on Monday.

The House of Representatives approved House Concurrent Resolution 14, which approves the “Code of the West,” consisting of 10 principles taken from the book “Cowboy Ethics,” by James P. Owen. It now moves to the Senate for approval.

• Allowing performers to smoke a cigarette in a public place or place of employment

Passed 57-1 on Monday

House Bill 3457 allows actors on stage, in movies or on television to carry a lit cigarette that does not contain tobacco in certain public places.
