• Former LPGA Tour player to host golf clinic with Bend pro: Bend’s Taya Battistella and former LPGA player Dodie Mazzuca are hosting a one-hour clinic today in Bend.
Battistella, an LPGA-certified pro and former Duramed Futures Tour player, and Mazzuca, who played on the LPGA Tour in 2001 and 2002, will be teaching strategies and techniques to winning golf tournaments.

The clinic begins at 5:30 p.m. at River’s Edge Golf Course in Bend. Cost is $18.

• British Open champion at Pronghorn Monday: Ian Baker-Finch, winner of the 1991 British Open and current television golf analyst for CBS, will be hosting a fundraising golf clinic Monday at Pronghorn Club in Bend.
The clinic, which will benefit Devin’s Destiny, a Central Oregon charity that provides birthday parties for homeless children, is open to the public.
For a $20 donation to Devin’s Destiny, clinic attendees will receive golf tips from Baker-Finch. Complimentary wine, beer and bottled water will also be provided for those attending the clinic.

• Bend golfer finishes strong at Washington tournament: Bend’s Andrew Vijarro scored a final-round 67 to finish in a tie for 12th place at the Sahalee Players Championship last week at Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash.
Vijarro, a 21-year-old University of Oregon golfer, was one of only two players in the elite field of 66 amateurs to shoot a 5-under-par 67 for a single round.
At 7 over for the 72-hole tournament, Vijarro finished eight strokes behind winner Chris Williams, of Moscow, Idaho.
