A statewide landscape architect group has given the Waldorf School of Bend an award of more than $7,000 to pay for sod for a new playground, according to a school news release.
The award is the Oregon Landscape Architects Association’s Charitable Project of the Year.
The award also includes a landscaping plan using plants and shrubs native to Central Oregon.
In recent weeks, the school has installed a sprinkler system at its location on Rocking Horse Road.
With that work done, teachers, parents, children and patrons of the school installed the new sod.
Families interested in more information can visit the school’s website at www.bendwaldorf.com or call 541-330-8841.
