The purring orange Falcon F7 on display at the Detroit auto show is one of three in existence and the first sale for the fledgling sports car company based in Holly, Mich.
At $250,000, it was an important sale for Falcon Motorsports CEO Jeff Lemke, who described the buyer as a New York businessman.
The company, which has changed its name from Mach 7 to Falcon Motorsports, has 10 employees who hand-assemble the cars.
The base model, which sells for $200,000, has an LS7 Corvette engine with 620 horsepower. It weighs less than 2,800 pounds and has reached 190 mph to 200 mph in tests, said Noel Thompson, company spokesman. The body is carbon fiber with an aluminum frame.
